DILLSBURG Richard C. Eshleman, Sr., 89, passed away November 16, 2013, at his home. He was born July 9, 1924, in Lancaster, the son of the late Veryl R. and Miriam E. (Miller) Eshleman. Richard was a retired tool and die maker for Fenner Manheim, Manheim. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a Puple Heart recipient. He attended Cumberland Valley Church, Dillsburg and was a lifetime member of the Dillsburg VFW, Post #6771. Richard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anna M. (Weldie) Eshleman; two sons, Richard C. Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jeffrey E. of Dillsburg: two daughters, Carol A. Mengel of Dillsburg and Lois E. Butler of York: and one brother, Allen H. of Lancaster. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by one brother, Harold R.; and one grandson, Christopher L. Grimm. Burial will be held in the Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Friday, November 29, 2013, with the funeral procession forming in the parking lot of the Cumberland Valley Church, 1071 York Road, Dillsburg at 9:45 am. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Cumberland Valley Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Ste. 115, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
