SEVEN VALLEYS Rodney L. Ness, 67, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at his cabin in Juniata County, after a day of hunting. He was the husband of Judy E. (Laughman) Ness, with whom he celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary in October. Rodney was born in York, February 5, 1946, son of the late Charles F. and Alice M. (Becker) Ness. He was the owner and operator of Ness Taxidermy, Seven Valleys. Rodney was an avid hunter, and a member of the National Elks Federation, the National Rifle Association, and a Master Measurer for the Safari Club International. In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters, Anjanette A. Kauffman and her husband, Alan E. of Seven Valleys, and Carol E. Vega and her husband, David D. of Hellam; and seven grandchildren, Cody A. Kauffman, Zachary A. Kauffman, Rebekah E. Vega, Sarah E. Vega, Timothy D. Vega, Thomas D. Vega, and Hannah E. Vega. He is preceded in death by a brother, Dale E. Ness. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2014, at the Robert M. Goodling Funeral Service, 62 Main St., Seven Valleys. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Jacob's Union Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Robert M. Goodling Funeral Service.
