HAMPSTEAD, MD Mary C. Asper, 100, formerly of Steltz, died Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. She was the wife of the late George E. Asper. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, February 10, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St, Stewartstown, and from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, at Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church, 5890 Steltz Road, Glen Rock. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. John C. Dorr, Jr. and the Rev. Thomas D. Bellis officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Born June 16, 1913, Mary was the daughter of the late William R. and Annie (McKinney) Wilhelm. Mary was a member at Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, and baking. She liked doing puzzles, playing Dominoes, and especially loved visiting with her family. Mary is survived by her children, Catherine "Kitty" Angel and her husband, Richard of Hanover, Jean Haines of Columbia, Ruth Kemp and her husband, Gary of Hampstead, Md., and Edward Asper of Boonesboro, Md,; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two stepsisters.
