YORK Thomas W. Callaway, Sr., 82, died Friday, March 7, 2014 at the home of his daughter in Dover. Born December 7, 1931 in Wilmington, Delaware, son of the late Thomas E. and Louise (McGowan) Callaway, he was the owner /operator of Callaway Painting. He was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War and a member of the Shiloh American Legion Post #791 and the Heritage Senior Center in Dover. Mr. Callaway is survived by his children, John Calhoun of West Chester, James Calhoun of Windsor, Cara Heiner of Dover, Thomas Callaway II of Fargo, North Dakota, Patricia Callaway Rogers of Seven Valleys, Heather Kearse of Dover, Megan Callaway of Hellam, Butch Rizzoli, Mary Louise Rizzoli, Karen Rinere, Donna Figel, Cheryl McCann and Stephen Callaway all of upstate New York, and John Callaway of Florida; 24 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Gilbert of Wilmington, DE; and two sisters, Phyllis Gilbert and Paula Manolakas also both of Wilmington. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Gilbert. Funeral services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York with the Rev. Dr. Gerald Gingrich, pastor of Carpenter's Fellowship in Seven Valleys, officiating. Military honors will be given by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
