NEWBERRY TWP. Franklin D. Bowser, 77, died Friday, May 2, 2014, in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp. He was a retired Technical Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam, and was also retired from DDC (NCAD) Fairview Twp. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors and tending to his gardens. He was a member of American Legion Post 974, Fairview Twp., and a Life Member of VFW Post 9118, Landisburg. Franklin was a kind and loving man and a good neighbor. Franklin was born in Swanton, Md., to the late Lloyd L. and Mary (Bell) Bowser. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harland, Lloyd, Jr., and Fred; and a sister, Lucille Wiles. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Joan (Beshore) Bowser; his son, Kent L. Bowser of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; a sister, Yvonne Carr of Maryland; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Paddletown Cemetery, Newberry Twp.
