YORK Levi R. Mosebrook. 87, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Betty A. (Snell) Aubel Mosebrook, with whom he shared 36 years. Mr. Mosebrook was born October 5, 1926, in Hanover Junction, a son of the late William B. and Agnes (Bortner) Mosebrook. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran who served his country faithfully for over 20 years and received various awards throughout his Navy career as an Engineman First Class. He served in both World War II and the Korean War. He also retired at age 62 as a corrections officer for York County Prison. He was a Gold Circle Member of the Veterans of Forgeign Wars, and attended the Calvary Temple Assembly of God. He was a faithful supporter to many missionaries throughout the world. Levi also leaves five stepchildren, Steven A. Snell, Sr. and wife, Rose of Thomasville, Paul E. Aubel and wife, Wanda of Shiloh, Arthur L. Aubel and wife, Juanita of York, Kasey S. Aubel of York, and Dorothy M. Gingerich and husband, Blaine of York; 11 stepgrandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren; a brother, Lester Mosebrook of Ontario, Calif.; and a sister, Mary Wildasin of Seven Valleys. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. A viewing will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 2160 Roosevelt Ave., York. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Dr. Benny Ortiz and the Rev. James Fahringer officiating. Burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens with full military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., West York, is assisting the family.
