YORK Edgar M. Askey, 77, entered into rest on Sunday evening at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Linda A. (Raymond) Askey for 42 years. He was born October 10, 1936, in Weimer, Pa., the son of the late Jess and Madeline (Maruschak) Askey. Edgar was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked for many years for Voith Hydro as an assembler. He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church and the Aerospace/Machinist Union. A viewing will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Advent Lutheran Church in Owens Hall, 1775 E. Market St., York. A flag presentation by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will be at 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the church. His pastor, the Rev. David Ritterpusch will be officiating the services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Avenue, is assisting with arrangements. Including his wife, Edgar is also survived by a son, Paul L. Askey of Camp Hill, his wife Meredith (Killian); and a daughter, Megan E. Askey of York; a granddaughter, Penelope Askey; four siblings, Ronald Askey of Grassflat, Pa., Arthur Askey of Hughesville, Pa., Mary Ann DeParasis of Thompson, Conn., and Stephen Askey of York. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Askey and Paul Askey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E.
