YORK Henry E. Grothe, 83, of Conewago Township, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Manor Care Health Services North. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Leese) Grothe. Born January 5, 1931, in York, a son of the late Henry A. and Goldie M. (Fortney) Grothe, he worked for Gardner-Denver/Cooper Industries for 25 years, and then later retired from AMP, Inc. He had also been a casual truck driver for Ryder, ABF, and Roadway. Mr. Grothe served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, the Miniature Railroad Club of York, and had been active in Boy Scouts in his younger years. In addition to his wife of 55 years, Mr. Grothe is survived by a daughter, Deborah E. Grothe of Wrightsville; a son, Andrew J. Grothe and his wife, Megan of Airville; three grandchildren, Maggie, Macey, and Mason; and a sister, Jacquelyn Nelson of Dunedin, Fla. He was also preceded in death by a son, William H.E. Grothe, and a brother, Francis Grothe. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Faith United Church of Christ, 509 Pacific Ave., with his Pastor, The Rev. Dr. Ronald J. Oelrich, officiating. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wrightsville, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. William E.
