Thomas Diemert Obituary
RED LION
Thomas J. Diemert, Sr., 67, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy. He was the husband of Beverly A. (Cline) Diemert to whom he was married for 48 years.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A time of celebration and sharing will immediately follow the service at the Funeral Home.
Born March 24, 1950 in Braddock, Allegheny Co., to the late William and Mary (Lander) Diemert, he was a graduate of Trafford High School. Mr. Diemert retired from USDA as an inspector after 38 years of service. He had served as Past President of American Federation of Government Employees. Tom was a Jimmy Buffett, Celtic Thunder and Collin Raye concertgoer and music fan, enjoyed playing softball, hunting and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had also served as a Boy Scouts of America Cub Scout Leader while living in Mifflintown, PA.
In addition to his wife, Beverly, Mr. Diemert is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Diemert, Jr. and his companion, Jennifer Lauver of Mifflintown and Giles B. and wife, Megan Diemert of Reedsville, PA; a grandson, Chase Diemert; a bonus granddaughter, Jordehn Lenker; a brother, William J. Diemert, Jr. of Irwin, PA; numerous nieces and nephews; "Sammy" the cat; and his "neighborhood kids" Kellen, Keiran, Cian, Chloe, Ethan, AJ, Amber, Bubba, Aubrey and Gabe. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Jordan; and one of his "neighborhood kids" Aislinn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy, PA 17552.

Tom was was such a decent man and his passing is saddening. He would always bring pleasure when I would see him and his wife Bev, highlighting my day. I felt honored to care for him as he was appreciative of all who gave him care. May his legacy thrive and the great memories he offered live through his wife Bev and his two Sons. Some people you remember forever, even if the times you spent with them were short, Tom was one of those people.

We won't be able to make the memorial tomorrow, but wanted to let you know we re thinking of you and praying for your comfort at this time.
