Clarence Leon Parker 81, of Rockingham, N.C., passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Parker was born Nov. 19, 1932 in Richmond County to the late L.T. Parker and Edna Rose Wilson. He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from the textile industry as a supervisor.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Martha Frances Wilson Parker of the home; a son, Jeff Parker and wife Tammy of Ramseur, N.C.; a daughter, Linda Parker Frye and husband Neal of Asheboro; two grandsons, Zachary Parker and Chris Parker; and granddaughter, Jada Frye Stevens.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel in Rockingham with the Rev. Scott Conner officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park with military honors.
