HAMLET, N.C. — Mrs. Lois "Bea" Hodges Paul, 85, of 305 Second St., Hamlet, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at her residence.
She was born in Richmond County, May 6, 1929, daughter of Henry Hodges and Shadie Knight Hodges.
Mrs. Paul was a member of Nebo Wesleyan Church and retired from Sara Lee. She also was a volunteer of Hospice, winning a plaque for best volunteer three years ago.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Paul.
Survivors include her son, Don Paul of Hamlet; daughters, Lorraine Honeycutt of Hamlet, Sandy Scott of Rockingham, Brenda Sellers of Bennettsville, S.C., Cathy Manship and Faye Holder of Hamlet; brothers, Harold Hodges of Texas and Buck Hodges of Rockingham; sisters, Marie Quick and Jean Laughridge of Hamlet and Gloria Reeves of Rockingham; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Outreach for Jesus.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Outreach for Jesus with the Rev. Jeff Collins, Pastor Marvin Taylor and the Rev. Lee Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Nebo Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
