Mr. John "Jack" Knox Case, 89, formerly of Battley Dairy Road, Hamlet, N.C., died Friday, April 11, 2014 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville.
He was born in Hamlet on December 13, 1924 the son of Fred Aiken Case and Sarah Marie Finning Case.
Mr. Case was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a life member of Hamlet Disabled American Veterans and previously worked for FMC Corporation in San Jose, Calif. He was also a familiar face at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital where he served as a volunteer for five years.
He is preceded in death by his former wife, Hazel Case; Crystal Quinn; his parents; brothers, Fred and Jimmy Case; and sisters, Margaret Ruth Downer and Madge Myers.
Survivors include his daughters, Connie Frye of Rockingham, and Sandra Frances Case of San Jose, Calif.; sister, Irene Kiser of Utah; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday at Harrington Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Scott Conner will be officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond Memorial Park Mausoleum.
