HAMLET, N.C. — Hazel Fuller Keeney, 88, of Hamlet, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015 at Richmond Pines in Hamlet. She was born July 11, 1927 in Hamlet, a daughter of the late William Penn and Ossie Medlin Fuller.
Mrs. Keeney was a lifelong member of Second Baptist Church. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Roses Department Store for more than 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Keeney in 2003. She was also preceded in death by a special nephew, Buddy Fuller.
Surviving are nieces, Mickey Nowell (Larry), Janice Turner (Scott) and Joan McAlexander; nephews, David Fuller, Wayne Fuller and William Hancock; great-nieces, Nicole Fuller Blake, Kim Fuller Smith, Vivian K. Hancock, Leslie Fuller Greene and Karla Hancock Houyoux; one great-nephew, Matthew Turner; and 11 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Hawks officiating. Burial will follow at Mary Love Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of her great-niece, Nicole Blake, 255 Peggy Mill Road, Hamlet, NC 28345.
