Fetzer, Elmer M.* - Yuma  
Elmer M. Fetzer was born May 18, 1922, in Kulm, North Dakota to Olga Ruff and Jacob Fetzer. In 1944, Elmer married Esther Knopp and settled in Paul, Idaho. Esther passed away in 1991. In 1993, he married Ilene Sanson. Elmer passed away on August 20, 2015 in Yuma, Arizona at the age of 93. Elmer was preceded in death by his wife Esther, siblings Adeline, Albert, Edward, Ella, Norma, and Ardella. He is survived by his wife Ilene, siblings Lillian, Marvin, Linda, children Patricia, Warren, Neil, and step-daughters Diane and Susan. He also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Elmer served his country in the Army Air Force from 1942-1945. He was a carpenter, a cabinet maker, and Paul city clerk. Elmer was Postmaster in Paul from 1962-1986. He was a charter member of the West End Fire Department and volunteered for 45 years as a fireman, spending 16 as Fire Chief. Elmer was a member of the Paul American Legion and a lifetime member of the Elks. He was active in his church and spent many years singing in the church choir. Elmer loved fishing and traveling to new places. A memorial service will be held at the Paul Pine Chapel, 100 N 550 W, Paul, Idaho 83347 on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 1 p.m. An additional memorial service will be held in Yuma, Arizona at a date and time to be determined.
