Ortiz Jr., Rudy* - Yuma  
Rudy Ortiz Jr. passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 after a short illness. Born in McKinney, Texas on February 2, 1955. Rudy lived in Somerton and Yuma since the age of 4. For those who knew Rudy, he had a calm spirit, enjoyed making people laugh, he never had a harsh word to say about anyone. Rudy was very proud of his children and grandchildren, always bragging about them. He will be missed dearly. Rudy is survived by his son, Rudy (Lisa); daughter, Celina (Chris); grandchildren, Evelynn, Courtney, Santiago, Ruby, and Jackson; sisters, Eva, Alice, and Mary; brothers, Johnny and Elijo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodolfo Sr. and Maria; brother, Priciliano "Chano"; nieces, Christina, Stephanie, and Erika; and nephew, Priciliano Jr. Rudy is at peace. He is loved and cared about by many family and friends.

Rodriguez, Marcos R.* - Yuma  
Our beloved husband and father, Marcos Rodriguez, departed to his heavenly home surrounded with love, his wife, children, and family members by his side. Marcos was born April 25, 1939 in Somerton, AZ. He was an exceptional man who loved life and his family more than anything. Words cannot express the pain of loss we feel at this time. Marcos is deeply missed. Marcos is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rachel; son, Mark Jr.; daughter, Melissa and Celina (Alfonso); grandchildren, Daniel, Agustin, Alina, and Randy; great granddaughter, Raquel, who he was papa to; brothers, Joe (Helen), David, and Orlando; sisters, Esther and Patricia (Bill). Marcos was preceded in death by his infant son, Armando; son, Randy; parents, Francisco and Lupe Rodriguez; brothers, Panchito and Mike. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014 and Service on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma. Rodriguez, Sergio Salazar - Somerton  
Sergio Salazar Rodriguez, 68, of Somerton, died recently at his home. A home construction worker, he was born Feb. 21, 1946, in Matamoros, Coahuila, Mexico. Wake and rosary will be at Funeraria del Paraiso in San Luis Rio Colorado, Son., at a later date, with burial in the Panteon Municipal.

Sergio Salazar Rodriguez, 68, died Dec. 24, 2014, at his Somerton home. A construction worker, he was born Feb. 21, 1946, in Coahuila, Mexico. A visitation will be Friday at Funeraria del Paraiso in San Luis Rio Colorado, Son. Burial will be Saturday at Panteon Municipal in San Luis. Desert Valley Mortuary and Crematory is handling local arrangements.

Scott, Letha* - Yuma  
Letha Scott of Yuma, Arizona, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 20, 2014. She was born on February 28, 1929 to Carl and Lilly Lowry in Houston, Texas. The family moved to Yuma in the mid 1940's. She graduated from Yuma High School. Letha met and married Bob Butcher, they later divorced. Letha moved to Phoenix in the mid 1970's. She attended school and studied medical assisting. Letha worked for Dr. Gene Davis for many years as an Office Manager. On July 4, 1976, she married her loving husband, Tom Scott and they spent 26 wonderful years together in Scottsdale, Flagstaff, and Yuma. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their families. Letha was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Scott. She is survived by her son, Dr. Bruce Butcher (Linda); daughter, Janet Jones (Michael); step-son, Jock Scott (Laurie); step-daughter, Mollie Acosta; grandchildren, Tim Butcher, Ryan Butcher, Casey Butcher, Michael Osborn, Jack Osborn, Sky Scott, and Mercy Perkins; and 6 great grandchildren. Please join family and friends in a Celebration of Life from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at her home, 1410 E. Pebble Beach, Yuma. According to Letha's wishes, she was cremated and her final resting place will be by her parents. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Yuma. Templeton, David R.* - Yuma  
David Ralph (Dave) Templeton of Yuma, Arizona passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at home. Dave was born on April 12, 1944 to Clark Ellis and Grace Edna (Gilleland) Templeton in Red Oak, Montgomery Country, Iowa. Dave served in the United States Army from Feb 1, 1967 to Jan 31, 1969; Dave served in Long Gao, Vietnam as a machine gunner in the 1st Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment during the largest troop build-up from July 1967 to 1968. Upon return to Ft. Carson, Colorado he served as a track commander with the 5th Mechanized Infantry, Dave received the Army Commendation for Service Medal for meritorious service. After military service, Dave worked toward a teaching career graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Industrial Education from Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska in 1970. In 1975, Dave received his Masters of Science majoring in Vocational Technical Education at Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri. Dave taught Industrial Education at Red Oak Senior High School at Red Oak, Iowa, Villisca Community High School at Villisca, Iowa, Iowa Lakes Community College at Emmetsburg, Iowa and Lake Michigan College at Benton Harbor, Michigan. Dave worked as a Vocational Training Analyst for the Arabian American Oil Company where he helped design curriculum, hire teachers, and determine training needs for the Saudis. Following his work in education, Dave worked in manufacturing from 1983 through 1997 for D&L at Red Oak, Iowa and Phenix City, Alabama as Plant Manager. Dave worked as the Vice President for the Virsan Division of Virco manufacturing and providing furniture products to Staples, Wal-Mart, universities, schools, and restaurants. After manufacturing, Dave worked in career guidance and computer literacy training at Yuma Private Industry Council, lnc., Yuma, Arizona from 1997 to 2004. He accepted the promotional responsibilities of Information Technology Manager at YPIC in 2004 where he worked until retirement in 2009. Dave was a long time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion and an avid supporter of veteran relief causes. Dave was preceded in death by his father Clark E. Templeton, his mother, Grace Edna Templeton and brothers Robert Templeton, Darwin Templeton, Lyle Templeton, Richard Templeton and his sister Maureen Templeton. Dave is survived by his wife Vicki Lynn Templeton and his three children: son, Darin A. Templeton of Phoenix, Arizona, his daughter, LeAnn, husband Brian Schneider and four daughters: Alex, Aryka, Madison, and Jade of Council Bluffs, Iowa and son Dr. Jesse E. Templeton and wife, Jennifer, of Parma, Ohio; his step son, Nathan Brinda and wife, Allyson and their daughters, Lena and Alysa of Cheyenne, Wyoming. He also leaves brother, Kenneth Templeton of Renton, Washington, brother, Darrell Templeton and wife Janette of Auburn, Washington, brother, Ivan Templeton and wife, Judy of Bellevue, Nebraska, and sister, Carole Rhodes and husband, Daryl of Indio, California. In addition to the five grandchildren, Dave leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In accordance with his wishes, his body will be cremated with interment in Red Oak Iowa at a later time. Family and friends are invited to gather at the family home on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 3 to 5 PM for a celebration of life.
