Born in Carol, MI, on October 3, 1944, Calvin McComb died February 28, 2013, due to an extended illness.
He was married to Eloise McComb for over thirty years and is survived by children Bobbi, J.D., Tammi, Calvin Jr., and Vicki. He also leaves behind three grandchildren Angel, Timmy, and Kymberly along with one great-grandchild Jonathon.
Calvin attended Carol High school in MI and moved to Yuma in 1985. He worked as a supervisor at the Stardust motel and Sun Vista RV. He also co-owned 8th Street Auto with long-time friend Gary Bahr. He was an avid stock car racer at Quechan Speedway taking several trophies in limited and stock car categories.
Cal enjoyed getting out in the sun fishing with family and friends. A private memorial will be held at a later date. He never failed to remember the holidays giving such gifts that took you by surprise. It could be anything from car tires to a diamond ring. He was a wonderful father to his kids, grand kids, and his great grandchild teaching them the wonders of fishing as well as stock car racing. He took life as it came, dealing with each trial as a bump in the road to enrich his life and those around him. He taught others by example treating them as he wanted to be treated. He had many lifelong friends that will miss him greatly. He stepped from this world to the next where he no longer is in pain.
The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who provided his care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to hospice of Yuma.
