Evelyn A. Williamson, selfless caregiver of children, was called to our Lord's home on November 15, 2012. She was born on September 15, 1925 to August and Helena Jalufka in Shiner, Texas. As one of seven children she was raised on a subsistence farm with cotton as its cash crop.
As a career military wife, she moved with her family to Yuma Test Station in 1958. While on post, Evelyn was a stay at home mom of seven children yet brought in extra income by babysitting and ironing for other families. In l963 the family moved into Yuma when Evelyn began employment outside of the home. Evelyn may be remembered as a dedicated waitress in the following restaurants: Hotel San. Carlos, Stardust, Hess', and Loo's. Later she was a cashier at Circle K and a Wal-Mart greeter.
Her zest for life showed in her love of music, dancing (jitterbug), reading, and her pets. However, her greatest fulfillment was enjoying her children's and grandchildren's religious, artistic, scholastic, and athletic endeavors.
Evelyn is survived by her seven children, John (Jamie) Williamson III, Terri Williamson, Sharon (David) Haile, Cynthia (Mark) Nelson, Ginger (Robert) Rico, Jim Williamson, Tony (Charlen) Williamson; fifteen grandchildren, Christina, Shawn, Bobby, Ryan, Kelly, Nick, Justin, Marlena, Eric, Steven, Quintan, Kyla, Brie, Brock, Wesley, Kyle; and fourteen great grandchildren with two more on the way.
She is survived by one brother, Edwin, of Cut and Shoot, Texas, and two sisters, Magdalene, and Ida of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Williamson Jr., parents, August and Lena, brothers, Frank of Gonzalez, Texas, and Florian of Cut and Shoot, Texas and sister, Mary of Shiner, Texas.
Services will be Monday, November 19th at 1:00 P.M. at Johnson's Mortuary.Final resting place will be Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
