Florence Irene Wagner of Yuma, was called home to Heaven on Thursday, March 27, 2014. She was born in Moody, Texas on April 29, 1923, the oldest daughter of Lee and Lillie Gregory.
Florence, a long time Yuma resident and member of Calvary Lutheran Church, was a loving woman with many family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was a tremendous home-maker for her family. She also had a career as a cashier at A.J. Bayless on 4th Avenue in Yuma, where she made many life-long friends. She will be remembered for her giving spirit, her big heart, her cooking, her creativity, all her crafts, her wooden spoon and her love for all of God's winged and 4-legged creatures.
Florence is survived by ex-husband Grover Wagner of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister Lillie Lewis of Illinois; sons Robert (Penny) of Colorado Springs, CO; Michael (Alison) of Sioux Falls, SD; Glen, of Yuma. She was preceded in death by her son David Wagner, of Yuma.
Florence also leaves behind 16 grandchildren: Robert, David, Eva, Patrick, Tim, Lisa, Tischa, Kristian, Tell, Magen, Melissa-Anne, Adrianne, Sarah, John, Alexis and Ariana, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her very much.
Services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Calvary Lutheran Church (711 S. 7th Avenue) at 10 a.m. Florence's faith in God reminds us all that she is now walking in Heaven with our Lord and telling Him all about her cats and her family.
