Jenny-Laree Laurencia Ramos, 33, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) after a sudden illness. Holding her hand, were her mother and father, Ramon and Kathryn "Kat" Ramos, while her three children, family and friends stood by.
Jenny was born in Yuma, Ariz., on May 15, 1979. A graduate of Kofa High School she knew her calling was to be in the medical field. Jenny had a natural instinct to nurture and provide tender, loving care to the ill. Jenny was employed as a certified nursing assistant in the OB/GYN department at YRMC while pursuing a nursing degree at Arizona Western College.
Jenny was a great mentor, who was highly respected, loved and admired among her peers. Her expertise and wealth of knowledge in her field will be sorely missed. Jenny was known for her great work ethics and her great 'sense of humor' and wittiness which kept everyone on their toes. Jenny's love and loyalty to family came first and foremost. A loving and caring mommy to her children, everything Jenny did revolved around Gaboury, Elyzza and Malachi. One could describe Jenny as the "epitome" of a loving. She often said, "My children are the light of my every day." Jenny believed that you 'reap what you sow,' this is the reason she worked so diligently to instill good values and morals to her children, but above all, to respect one another, accept people for who they are not how much they have and to love unconditionally.
Our sweet Jenny leaves behind her father, Ramon and mother, Kathryn; husband, Frank Madrid; two sons, Gaboury Santos Camarena and Malachi Knowledge "Lucky" Madrid; daughter, Elyzza Paloma Camarena; grandparents, John and Shirley Gaboury; brothers: James Ramos Lagunas and Steven Ramos; sister: Janna Ramos Lagunas; stepfather: Dave Davis of Utah; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
Jenny was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Chilo and Laurencia Ramos; uncles: Victor and Frank Ramos; and cousin: Marcos Anthony Ramos.
A memorial service will be held, Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Yuma Mortuary, followed by a celebration of life at West Wetlands Park from 12 noon to 2 p.m. for all her family and friends.
