Karl Leroy Jones(1943-2013)

Karl Leroy Jones, 70, of Yuma, went to his final ride in the sky Saturday, December 28, 2013. He was born September 19, 1943 in Tucson, AZ. He graduated from Yuma High and was a proud Criminal. He served 23 years in the US Army in the 1st Cavalry; he served in Vietnam, then 18 years at the Yuma Proving Grounds. Karl loved to hunt and fish when he was younger, then grew his love of motorcycles. He served as a post commander of the VFW and the American Legion, twice in each organization.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Jones. He leaves behind his wife and best friend, Mary, and his faithful dog Sally, his mother, Wilda, four children, one step-daughter, his brother Alton (Chris) Jones, his sister Kay (Mark) Silva and lots of special nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place Friday, January 3, 2013, 10:00 am at the American Legion Post 19, 2575 S Virginia Dr., Yuma, AZ. Condolences may be left for the family at www.norvelowensmortuary.com.
