Priscilla Ann Brown, 69, passed away due to an illness at home on Monday, April 28, 2014 surrounded by friends and family. She was born March 21, 1945 in Somerton, AZ. Priscilla attended grammar school in Somerton, Phoenix Indian High School, and American Indian Bible Institute. Priscilla was a homemaker and a pastor's wife in Holbrook, AZ and Bylass, AZ. She served as a chaplain with husband Stephen at Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, CA. She was a Cocopah Health Representative for 17 years and was also a Hostess at Cocopah Bingo. Pricilla was an active member of Cocopah Assembly of God. She was a member of a sewing club and enjoyed traditional dancing since she was a child.
Priscilla is survived by her husband, Stephen Brown of the Home; daughter, Iris Durand (Todd) of Winterhaven, CA; sons, Daniel Brown (Beverly) of Friendswood, TX and Christopher Brown (Keri) of Yuma, AZ; sisters, Georgina Portillo of West Cocopah, Pauline Allen of West Cocopah, and Francis Evanston of East Cocopah; brother, Richard White of East Cocopah; 16 grandchildren; and a great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by brother, Gilbert Rivers Papel and sister, Lena Rivers Papel.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 officiated by Pastor Frank Gutierrez at East Cocopah Assembly of God in Somerton. A Traditional Ceremony will follow at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at West Cocopah Cryhouse, 14515 S. Veterans Drive, Somerton. Final resting place will be at West Cocopah.
