Sharif Samir Moustafa, 31, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014.
Sharif was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, August 5, 1982 to Samir Tawif Moustafa and Danette Pritchard. Sharif attended Yuma High School and graduated at Arcadia High School in Phoenix.
Sharif quickly picked up tennis from a young age, it was clear that the game was his calling. He was recruited to go Phoenix when he was 16 to play for a junior tennis program. He was the top-ranked southwest player. His skill took him to the University of Arizona, where he played for the tennis team. He served as head pro at Yuma Fitness Center and as a pro for the Ron Smith Tennis Academy in Tucson. He was a pro at the Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club. Sharif played and coached the Pima Community College tennis team winning honors as coach of the year for four straight years.
Sharif received his bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona. He loved all sports and was a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Arizona Wildcats. Sharif will be remembered for his easy going nature, and his love for his family.
Sharif is survived by father, Samir Moustafa; mother, Danette Pritchard; brothers, Brent Calger, Sammy Moustafa and Neal Moustafa; sister, Nadia Moustafa; grandmother, Nancy Warden; and niece Zayda Calger.
A Memorial Service will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Sunset Vista Funeral Home, 11367 E. 40th St., Yuma, AZ 85367.
