Vernal Vest

Vernal Vest, 73, left to Internal Paradise to be with his friends and family on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. He was born on September 28, 1939 in Somerton, AZ.
Vernal served in the US Army. He will be remembered for his loving smile and kind heart. He loved to show the latest pictures of his grandchildren to friends that he would see. He will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
Vernal is survived by his mother, Flora Montague of Winterhaven, CA; son, Mitch (Pam)Vest of Winterhaven; brother, Mike (Blanca) Montague of Winterhaven, CA; sisters, Donna (Anthony) Mitchell of Parker, AZ, Brenda Harvier of Winterhaven, CA; uncle Brown Davis of Chloride, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Lori Vest (Lewis), Kim Vest (Chris), Melissa Vest (Andre); 4 great-grandchildren, Lisa, Orion, Savanna, Ursa, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Vest; step-father, Blase Montague; brother, Donald Montague; sisters, Deanna Ludwig and Sylvia Caskey; uncle, Ted Davis.
Services will be held at Yuma Mortuary on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm with Todd Durand officiating. Traditional Indian ceremony will follow at the Fort Yuma Big House.
Pallbearers will be Steve Harvier, Robert Harvier, Ed Caro, Michael Lewis Throssell, Mike Montague Jr, and Andre Polk-Estrada. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Montague Sr, Mitch Vest, Anthony Mitchell, Mark and Matthew Kelly, John, Ken and Keith Villanueva.
