R. Lewis Obituary

R. Lucille Lewis, 83, died Sunday, March 13, 2011, with her family by her side in Yuma, AZ. She was born January 26, 1928, in Southport, IN to William and Lucy Nicely.

Lucille graduated from Franklin Township High School in 1946. She worked a year as a typist for State Auto Insurance in Indianapolis. On March 17, 1947 she married Billy R. Lewis. They lived in Beech Grove, IN where their first son, Ronald L. Lewis was born. Four years later they moved to Fort Wayne, IN where their daughter, Dian Lewis and son, Mark Lewis was born. She spent many years as Secretary and bookkeeper for Pyromation, Inc. After many years of traveling the United States in their motor home, they retired in Yuma, AZ. Mrs. Lewis is survived by her sisters, Nola Denny and Marjorie Windhorst; brother, Ralph Nicely; sons, Ron Lewis of Tennessee, Mark Lewis of Indiana as well as five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lewis; daughter, Dian Odom; granddaughter, Kelly Adam; brother, Chester Nicely and sister, Hazel Lewis.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Sunset Vista 11357 E. 40th St., Yuma, AZ. Preferred memorials to Hospice Compassus, 1025 West 24th Street, Suite 15, Yuma, AZ 85364.
