Bertha L. "Sal" Bugher Obituary
"Sal" Bertha L. Bugher passed away at her Yuma, Arizona home, Desert Rose, at 7:25pm May 4, 2013. Sal was born in Huntington County, Polk Township, Indiana on January 26, 1919 to David & Myrtle Shell. Sal married Wilmer K. Bugher on February 24, 1940. Sal was a surgical nurse in many of the Indiana communities they lived in. She also was actively involved in church and community services. They raised one daughter, Judy. Sal and her husband enjoyed traveling and finally settled in Yuma, Arizona. In 1994 Sal lost her daughter and sixteen months later lost her husband. During the next two decades, Sal enjoyed eleven great-grandchildren who survive her. Also surviving are Sal's brother-in-law Dick Bugher (spouse Peggy), sister-in-law Maxine Stouder (spouse Phil), son-in-law Terry Frank (spouse Debbie), and two grandsons Tad Frank and Kelly Frank (spouse Traci). A Celebration of Life will be held at Desert Rose retirement home, 2-4pm, May 18, 2013. Interment will be at Crystal Cathedral Gardens, Los Angeles, California. Memorials may be sent to Crossroads Mission (P.O. Box 1161, Yuma, Arizona, 85366) or Leesburg United Methodist Church (111 West Prairie Street, Leesburg, Indiana 46538).
