Carmen L. Martinez, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, AZ. Carmen was born May 18, 1921 in Yuma, AZ to Juan Lopez of Juchipila, Zacatecas, Mexico and Carmen Gomez of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Carmen was employed and retired from the United States Army Air Corps B-29, B-24 aircraft repair riveter. She was an active Baptist.

Carmen is survived by daughter, Belinda (Tom) Bartlett of Yuma; sons, Raymond (Sherry) Martinez of Winterhaven, CA, Edward Martinez of Yuma, Andy (Mary) Martinez of Yuma, Kenny (Anna) Martinez of Yuma; sisters, Victoria Lopez of Yuma, Beatrice Rothaker of Daily City, CA; brother, Joe Lopez of Pomona, CA; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Miranda Martinez of Yuma; brothers, Chon Lopez of Yuma and Ben Lopez of California.
Services will be held at Johnson's Mortuary located at 1415 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to be made to: Alz.org (
