Like all of our 1961 classmates and friends, I was deeply saddened when notified of Kay's death. Our condolences to her family and many friends.
I best remember Kay during our 30th, 35th and 40th Class reunions when we shared some very pleasant memories of our high school years. Also, she took the initiative during these reunions to read our bios and congratulate and "roast" our adventures, experiences and accomplihsments, as only Kay could do.
Due to the wonder of the Internet, this is the first timely notification I have received of the death of one of our 1961 classmates. It is comforting to know that the Internet will serve to keep our Class of 1961 informed and connected now and into the future.
We are all looking forward to our 50th Reunion in Fort Stockton in October 2011 and Kay will be deeply missed.
Saludos y Abrazos,
Chris Hoover

Hey Ms. Texas!
I started calling you "Ms. Texas" and as far as I am concerned, you are the #1 and ONLY "Ms. Texas"! You have been one of the TRUE friends I have have had the pleasure of knowing. If this cancer thing don't work out for me, I hope to end up where you are at (Heaven) so I can see you again! See you later my friend.

Kay Kerr was one of the prettiest, friendliest, most out going girls in FSHS> Always a smile for everyone. No matter who you were. She is one of the FSHS'ers I was hoping to see at the FSHS multi-class in 2012. ... My deepest sympathy and prayers to her family.

Kay Kerr is among my most pleasant memories of our hometown of Fort Stockton, Tex. We were in high school together and worked together evenings and weekends at the local movie theater. We double-dated together, and I used to pretend to be her date so she could get out of her house to go with the guy she later married, who her parents didn't want her dating. And she witnessed one of my most dramatic breakups with the girl who later became my first ex-wife. Kay and I shared a lot of adventures and so many laughs back then and remained dear friends all these years. I'd go to the end of the world for that lady--and sometimes thought I'd have to! I still see her in my mind as she was each summer back then, a lovely blonde with a dazzling smile and the greatest tan from hanging out every spare moment at the Comanche Springs swimming pool.
This world was a better place when you were in it, Kay. I miss you terribly.
