Fred Kamrath Obituary

Fred W. Kamrath, age 83, followed the light to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 21, 2011. He was born in Olive, CA on his parent's ranch.

Fred attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School and graduated from Orange Union High School. After serving in the Army, he returned home to assist his father in the custom citrus care business and to also start a wholesale egg and trucking business.

In 1951, Fred married Vera and were soon blessed with three children. Their daughter, Corinne (Rick) Sellers; granddaughter, Chantel; daughter, Staci, who is in loving arms of the Lord; son, Craig (Liz), Joshua.

After 15 years of owning his own businesses, Fred and Vera decided to sell and move their family to Yuma, AZ. Here they became involved in the citrus and agriculture brokerage business Yuma Realty Company was active for over 30 years. Fred was always looked upon as a very religious, kind, compassionate man with a smile and dry sense of humor. Beside church, he enjoyed deep sea fishing, hunting, spending time on the beaches of Mexico and watching the Arizona Diamondback games. Fred and Vera just recently celebrated 60 years of a wonderful marriage.

Viewing will take place on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Johnson Mortuary from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. with reception following at the church.

Fred was a great guy to not only work with, but to learn from. As a mentor, he was all business, but fair to all. I held a deep respect for Fred and his positive influence is always with me..

Dear Vera & family--what a special man Fred was and I know our Dad Jack was fond of him and well as Mama Ruth. May you be comforted and blessed daily with the peace of God that passes all understanding.
We will meet again in the heavenly glories with Jesus.

I was blessed with the two greatest grandfathers. Grandpa Kamrath will be missed. He was very close to the Lord and I have always admired that about him.
