Ismael "IC" Anaya, 79, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. He was born December 29, 1933 to Jesus and Maria Anaya in Yuma, AZ.

IC was a graduate of Yuma Union High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and received the Purple Heart for his service. He later moved to Mexico City where he attended a University and earned a business degree. He relocated to Redondo Beach CA and worked for Magnavox until 1981, then returned home to Yuma. In Yuma we worked for WACOG. He taught C.C.D at both Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Thomas Mission Church. He was member of Knights of Columbus; past Grand Knight of Council 9378, and also a Fourth Degree Knight. He shared his faith and encouragement and was an inspiration to many. He will be missed dearly and remembered by all who knew him.
IC is survived by his brothers, Frank and John Anaya of Yuma, AZ; sisters, Celia Carlon of Yuma, AZ and Cecilia Santa Cruz of Phoenix, AZ; 14 nieces and 7 nephews along with many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Maria Anaya; brothers, Jose, Rafael, Luis, Henry and Robert Anaya; sister, Carmen Murrietta.
Wake will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 5PM to 9PM with rosary at 7PM. Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 9AM. His final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial.
Pallbearers will be members of Knights of Columbus Council 9378. Honorary pallbearers are John Anaya Sr., John Anaya Jr., Danny Anaya and Kieran Brennan.
