Sergeant Major Jeff D. Federmeyer, 82, passed away at home October 5, 2013, after a short illness. He was born April 9, 1931, in Mingo Junction, Ohio. |
Jeff had a long career with the United States Marine Corps, serving over 30 years. He saw combat action in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. His career highlights were a tour as a Drill Instructor at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina, where he helped shape new Marines, and a tour at the Officer's Candidate School in Quantico, VA. Before retiring, SgtMaj Federmeyer served as Station Sergeant Major at Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Arizona, and 3rd Marine Corps Air Wing Sergeant Major at El Toro, CA.
After retirement, Jeff enjoyed golf, travel, and staying in touch with his many friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marian, sons Jeff Federmeyer and P. Jeff Federmeyer(Minda), his daughters Jody Clemenska (Dan) and Catherine Cashman (David), and his grandchildren Lindsay Brown (James), Kayla Guyer (Richard), and Nathan and Nicholas Cashman. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and respected him.
In accordance with Jeff's wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the
