Marie Gilmore Obituary

Marie M. Gilmore, 85, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 at her home in Hereford, Arizona with her family by her side after an extended illness.

Marie was born on December 16, 1925 in Fairview, Montana to John and Anna Smith. In her early years Marie and her husband, Dan lived in Port Angeles, Washington where she worked in the shipyards while Dan served overseas. They had the opportunity to see Montana and fell in love with the Big Sky Country and settled in Helena. Marie spent many years with Mountain Bell and upon retirement she and Dan moved to Yuma, Arizona where upon she took control of entertainment in her community. She loved playing cards and also loved her many friends she met over the years in Montana and Yuma.

Mom had a wonderful and full life and as she would say "I wouldn't change it a bit".

Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Gilmore Sr.; sisters, Theresa Carpenter and Francis Chavis; brother, Fred Smith, Jr. and son-in-law Mike Clark.

Marie is survived by her son, Dan (Gayle) Gilmore of Helena, MT and daughter Connie (Bill) Clark Foust of Hereford, AZ; Sister, Helen McEwen of Port Angeles, WA. Grandchildren; Jay Clark, Josh Clark, Jeanine Rosier, Jill Baldry, Robert Gilmore, Brett Gilmore, Brandie Singleton, Kaely Helmbrecht and Beth Lewis. Several great- grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangement by Hatfield Funeral Home, Sierra Vista, AZ.
