Mary James Conovaloff passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012. She was born January 22, 1917 in Los Angeles, CA.
The Guest Book is expired.
Mary grew up and went to school in the LA area, where she was active in many youth organizations centered on the Russian Molokan community. In the 1940's she married and moved to the Phoenix area where she raised her children with her husband on the family farm. Mary was very active in many school, scouting, civic and farming organizations. She was very active in the Arizona Russian community and also was a center piece in both her own extended family in California and her husband's large family in Arizona. It seemed impossible for her to refuse any request to help with a local project. After the death of her husband Alex, in 1985, Mary relocated to Yuma where she lived a more retiring life cheering on her children and grandchildren in their lives and keeping in touch with her extended family and many friends in the Los Angles and Phoenix areas, while enjoying her new life and friends. Mary was always grateful for and loved all the people in her life. The family thanks everyone she knew for their roles in her life.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Donna (Larry) Taddia; sons, Luke (Elaine) Conovaloff, Timothy (Lola) Conovaloff; grandchildren, Patrick, Lara, Cheryl, Joseph Conovaloff; sisters, Sera Popoff, Vera Geiger, Luba Barackman and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Conovaloff; parents, Luba and James Haprov; brothers, John and Jack Haprov; sister, Lydia Haprov.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 23, 2012 10am to 12pm at Johnson Mortuary. Visitation and services pending in Los Angeles, CA.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Yuma.
