Melinda Ramona Rico, 50, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2012, after battling lung cancer. |
She was born in Yuma, to the late Robert C. Rico Sr. and Beatrice (Tukie) Avilez. Melinda loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Always laughing and enjoying life around her. She was a self-employed Stylist who used her talent making people feel beautiful. She was an outgoing, and inspirational one of a kind person who had the gift of touching many lives. She was a daughter, sister, Mother, Grandmother and friend, whose smile will always be imprinted in our hearts and minds. Melinda, we love you more!!
She is survived by her Mother, Beatrice Avilez, her daughters Mystelle Casteñada, Erica Medina, and Shannon Angulo. Her brothers and sisters: Frank Rico (Sue Lujan) of Tucson, Az., Robert Rico (Ginger), Gene Rico, Cindy Gittins (Rick), and JoAnn Moreno (Rudy) all of Yuma. She leaves behind her eleven grandchildren: Angel, Bianca, Julian, Ariana, Alexia, and Alex Casteñada, Muriha, Marco, and Allyzea Medina, Kourtney and Aubrey Hernandez.
The wake will be at Desert Valley Mortuary, Wednesday December 12th 5pm-9pm, with the Rosary starting at 6pm.The mass will be at St. Francis of Assisi on December 13th at 10:00 am with the burial immediately following at Desert Lawn Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Frank and Robert Rico, Jimmy Angulo Jr., Rick Gittins, Rudy Moreno, Nick Hernandez, Daniel and Joseph Faz.
Honorary pallbearers are Mystelle Castañeda, Erica Medina, Shannon Angulo, Bobby, Nick, and Eric Rico.
