Patricia Nelson Obituary

Patricia Alice Nelson, 72, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 in St. George, Utah. She was born October 11, 1938 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Alice Maude Manton and Edward Alexander Shirley. She married Melvin Ward Nelson in Taber, Alberta June 23, 1954. They were married for 49 years.

Patricia loved her family, entertaining and traveling. She lived in Alberta, Tsauwassen, B.C. and White Rock, B.C., but most recently in Yuma, Arizona where she sold Real Estate for almost 20 years. Pat retired two years ago and has enjoyed traveling to as many family events as she could fit in.

Patricia is survived by her children: Gary (Audree) Nelson of Dawson Creek, B.C., Shirley (Kurt) Bowen of St. George, Utah and Sharon Nelson of Abbotsford, B.C.; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Joan (Kelsey) Hennig; brother, Edward (Rhonda) Shirley; and many beloved in-laws; and nieces and nephews.

An open house to celebrate Pat's life will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the home she loved in Yuma, Arizona - 13468 East 45th Lane. Arrangement entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
