Pearl May Mayle - Garcia, born May 11, 1931, went home to be with our Lord Jesus at 8:45a.m, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the home of her beloved daughter-in-law & care-giver, Marti Neal.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Pearl is survived by her husband, Cesario "Challo" S. Garcia; children, Junior Garcia, Debbie Garcia Towe (husband Rodney), and Jerry Garcia (wife Marta); sisters, Dorothea "Dot" Mayle-Franklin, Beverly Mayle-Coke; brothers, Ronald Mayle and Glenn Mayle. Pearl loved her grandchildren, Peggi McLaughlin, Odle Towe, Zantha Towe, Abbra Towe, Traxel Towe, JC Garcia, Stacy Daily, Nathan Garcia, and Katrina Edwards; great-grandchildren, Tyler Hodgin, Morgan McLaughlin, Blyth Daily, Olivia Towe, Landen Towe, Teagen Dugan, Maevry Dugan, Tyler Edwards, Logan Edwards and Quaid Edwards, including numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister JoAnn Mayle-Farar.
Pearl was a most accomplished horse-woman, road in the Rose Bowl Parade many times and belonged to many clubs and organizations. She was an expert clogger and taught dance class for years. She loved teaching clogging to various 4-H Clubs and the children of Somerton through Precious Treasures. Since 1964 Pearl had been employed at Arizona Western College as a fulltime employee and then part-time until a few years ago. Her life is filled with memories of all the lives she has touched and people she had helped. She was a vibrant beautiful soul, respected and loved by all and will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of life will be held at the First Christian Church, where she was baptized and a member, located at 3261 S. Ave 6E on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 6pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Arizona Western College Foundation in establishing a scholarship in Pearl Garcia's name and/or to Hospice of Yuma.
