Robert 'Sonny'  Palacio Ramirez Obituary
Robert "Sonny" Palacio Ramirez at age 73 passed away Sunday , March 28, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Sonny was born December 8, 1936 in Yuma.

Sonny retired from Southern Pacific Railroad with 29 years of service, he also served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was a bushmaster. He was an active member of the Fraternal order of Eagles for more than 50 years.

Sonny spent time raising money for several charities through the Fraternal order of Eagles. He loved sports, played baseball and softball for many years, later he coached Bobby Sox softball for several years. Sonny was a Big time Raiders fan! He enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 49 years Frances Ramirez; daughters, Sylvia (Wayne) Magnusen of Yuma, Kathy (Patrick) Garcia of Phoenix, Arizona, Michelle (Rey) Garcia of Yuma, Victoria (Oscar) Ochoa of Glendale, Arizona; brother, Charles (Olga) Salomon of Yuma, Arizona; 13 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sonny was preceded in death by his mother Amanda Ruiz; step-father, Manuel Ruiz; father Enrique Ramirez Sr., brother Enrique Ramirez.

Wake will be held at Johnson Mortuary Monday, April 5, 2010 between 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass Tuesday April 6,2010 at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 a.m.

Sonny's final resting place will be Desert Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Robert Vargas, Jorge Ochoa, Christopher Ramirez, Dionicio Martinez III, Rogelio Vargas III, Christopher Palacio, Fred Palacio Jr., Gilbert Angelo Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Oscar Ochoa, Alvina Martinez, Wayne Magnusen, Patrick Garcia, Lenae Ramirez, Jessica Miller.
