Shelby Dailey Obituary
Shelby married Don Dailey and moved to Yuma in 1971. She ran the Day Care Center at the Yuma Proving Grounds for 20 years, retiring in 1996. She was a lifetime member and advocate of Weight Watchers. Over the years "Miss Shelby" was a nanny to many fortunate children. She had the gift of seeing into the heart of a child and helping each one feel special and treasured, her legacy is carried in the lives of these children and in the heart of everyone who knew her and loved her. Shelby radiated life and laughter. She will be deeply missed.
Shelby is survived be her brother, Gary Smith of Rochester, MN; sisters, Nancy Lynn of Macon, GA, Shirley Darley of Macon, GA, Kathie Monzingo of Pasadena, TX, Anita Bjornaas of Austin , TX and Mae Kramer of Hemet, CA and nephew, Sawyer Robertson of Lake Forest Park, WA. Shelby has now joined her beloved Don in heaven.

I miss you so much! You were always called "Spinky" by me and your other siblings. I am so thankful that Anita & I were able to spend quality time with before our precious Lord took you home. I will always remember our times together. Love you always, Kathie, your sister.

Shelby networked with early childhood staff in the community during the years I was director of the Child Development Leaning Laboratory at AWC. I always enjoyed her friendly smile and helpful manner. She will be missed.

I HAVE KNOWN SHELBY FOR ABOUT SIX YEARS THRU WEIGHT WATCHERS SHE ALSO HOUSE SET OUR TWO DACHOUNDS.WE FEEL BLESSED WE WERE ABLE TO VIST HER A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE SHE PASSED.MAY SHE REST IN PEACE.

Ms. Shelby, we have already missed you at Wednesday night dinner & Saturday morning brunch after the WW Meetings. So glad you are at peace now and have undoubtedly been reunited with Don. Til we meet again. Take care!

Shelby was a beautiful person. I will always remember her years ago when I became ill at work, at YPG, and she came and took me home. She was a God sent lady. Rest in Peace, Shelby, God always takes the Best!

Hey Ms. Shelby, without your guidance, knowledge and Great Laugh I would not be where I am today. I see you every day at the CDC. My gallon bleach container saids "Bleach made Dailey" and I watch the children play at the "Dailey Play Area". You are always in my Heart. Shelby will be missed. She was a like a second mom .. If I needed advice after my mom passed.. she was there for me.

Shebby Jean...I love ya and I miss ya. There's gonna be an empty chair at our Wednesday night dinners we've had for the past 10 or 15 yrs. Shelby's name will always be remembered at the Child Development Center at YPG with the "Dailey Play Area" playground named for her when she retired. She's touched many little lives and many families in such a positive, caring way. Rest in peace, Shebby Jean!
