Terry Jensen Obituary

Today marks the culmination of an amazing life for a wonderful man. Terry Jensen was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. On Sunday, May 15, 2011, following a motorcycle accident, our incredible angel has finally received his wings.
Terry was born October 12, 1950 in Tremonton, Utah to Betty and Jerald Jensen. The second of 4 children, Terry was often looked to for his knowledge, his advice, and his wise perspective. Terry graduated from Bonneville High School in 1968 and was married to the love of his life, Cathy East Jensen on Valentine's Day in 1969. After 2 short years, the couple welcomed their son, Striker into the world; and, in 1974 welcomed a second son, Skip, to their family.
Drawn by the warm weather, Terry and Cathy moved to Yuma, Arizona in 1994. Terry had an infectious laugh and a quick sense of humor that could light up a room. His heart was pure gold, and he lived his life making everyone around him happy. He had an incredible sense of humor and could crack a joke on cue. Terry could see the good in anyone, and brought out the best in everyone.
Terry had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. Sporting Harley clothing from head to toe, Terry absolutely loved the Yuma H.O.G. Motorcycle Club. Weekends and evenings were spent riding the open roads. He loved his family and enjoyed traveling with them or simply being together as a happy family. Terry was also a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Terry was an owner of Pacesetter Homes of Yuma.
Terry is survived are his wife, Cathy; his son Striker (Paige); granddaughters, Riley Jensen and Kelsey Potts. Son Skip (Nikki); grandsons Hunter Jensen, Colton Bernhardt and Brody Brown; his brothers, Larry and Tim and sister, Sally (Scott) Critchlow.
Terry touched the lives of everyone who came in contact with him and will be deeply missed by all.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 2895 South 8th Avenue in Yuma, Arizona. Please sign the guestbook at www.yumasun.com/obituaries.

I did not know Terry personally but I can see from the guestbook entries and his obituary that he was a very fine man. I have been a member of the mfg. home industry for over 34 years. Not only has the industry lost a very good man but sociey has lost a good man. Our faith convinces us that Terry lives on in a different stage of life now and he will be with his wife, family and friends again in a coming day. It is this conviction that makes dealing with his passing or any loved ones passing, something we can get through.

My last motorcycle ride was with Terry and it was for about 10 hours- cruising all around Yuma in April 2009. Loved his laugh, genuine concern for other's happiness, bowling joke, I could always talk to him just like a big brother. Cathy, I'm only a phone call away and I've been there done that too unfortunately. I know the great support of friends and family.

My fondest memories of Terry are as young cousins getting together at our Grandpa's house. I will always remember Terry chasing after the pea wagon as it passed and pulling off a big bunch of pea vines with the pitchfork. Then we all sat out on Grandma's lawn and shelled the peas. We would then have a fantastic lunch and play softball in Aunt Lila's front yard. We have drifted apart as we have gotten older, partly because of geography and partly because of the normal growth process, but the fond memories will always remain close. God bless you all at this difficult time. Cousin Cindy (daughter of Aunt Lois)

Met Terry through his son Striker at a Harley Event here in Reno. I've met a zillion people in my life but only one that really stands out, Terry Jensen or "Dudley" as he liked to be referred too. That man could make me laugh just by the way he stood! His wisdom, love for friends and family amazed me. I'm proud to say that Terry is a true friend, though we were together a short time, I had the pleasure of meeting one of the finest men that walked the earth. I will miss him as well as all who came into contact with him. Our hearts are saddened by this loss. To the family, he loved you all so much thank you for sharing him with the rest of us.
