Wilma Ruth (Phillips) Clark was born September 9, 1921 in Hindsville, Arkansas. She departed this life at her home in the Clark Family Compound, being 92 years, 11 months and 20 days of age (We're calling it 93). |
Wilma arrived in the Somerton /Yuma Valley area with her family in 1923. She attended elementary school in Gadsden and Somerton, graduating from Somerton Grammar School in 1935 and Yuma Union High School in 1939.
Her life was filled with many roles - as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and she fulfilled them all well.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith (Jeff) Tuttle and her son, Phil (Loma) Clark all of the Family Compound. Brothers, Paul Phillips of Waterford, California and Stanley Phillips of Yuma. Grandchildren, Kelly Meltzer of Tucson and Philip Clark of Sahuarita, Arizona and great granddaughter, Kelsey Clark of Sahuarita - and a whole bunch of nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, O. L. Clark. Her parents, Price and Gladys Phillips and brother Robert Phillips.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5th at Morningside Southern Baptist Church, 2900 South 8th Avenue, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastors Dale Clayton and Jay Vance officiating.
Interment will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
