Socorro  "Corrina" Mendez Bohanon Obituary
Socorro "Corrina" Mendez Bohanon, 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Yuma, AZ. Corrina was born July 5, 1942 at The Isla. She was baptized in the Catholic Church. She worked at Genes Restaurant and was a Nanny in Paradise Valley, AZ for many years. Corrina was an amazing cook and had a hand in raising all of her nieces and nephews. Corrina had many friends, had a huge heart, and would help everyone even if she didn't have much to give. Corrina will be greatly missed by all her loved ones.

Corrina is survived by her son, Jose Gaspar (Sherry Woods) of Yuma; daughters, Carol Canales, and Tina Gaspar, all of Yuma; friends, Daisy Groves of Polson, MT and Leticia Ruano of Yuma; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by son, Joaquin Gaspar; husband, Leandres Bohanon; brother, Robert Mendez; sisters, Theodora Angulo Gonzalez, Lupe Mendez Ortega, and Clara Mendez Bohanon; mother, Teresa Angulo-Mendez; and father, Frank L. Mendez.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma. Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 1815 S. 8th Avenue, Yuma. Burial will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1415 S. 1st Avenue.

Pallbearers: Jose Gaspar, Brandon Gaspar, Larry Bohanon Jr., Robert Mendez Jr., Michael Mendez, Filberto Mendez. Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Mendez Sr., Robert Lagunas, Larry Lagunas, Ricardo Rascon.
