Oscar Sevilla II Obituary
Oscar Sevilla II, 33, passed away of natural causes on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Oscar came into being the 9th day of February in 1981 on a sunny winter day in Yuma, AZ. He lived his entire childhood and part of his young adult life in a house tucked away amongst the green fields surrounding Yuma. His childhood was simple, surrounded by love with his mother, father, younger brother, many cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Oscar was a mischievous troublemaker, a cunning lettuce war fighter, a loyal friend to all, and loved deeply even as a child. He also loved studying (kind of). He graduated from Yuma High School in 1999. He started his post high school education at Arizona Western College earning an Associate of Arts degree in May of 2001. Oscar then decided to make healthcare his life's work by completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Grand Canyon University in December of 2003 and then becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, Arizona School of Health Sciences in August of 2007. He loved fishing, off-roading, quadding, exercising, playing video games, and was an avid spectator of football, baseball and basketball.

Many will remember Oscar as a man of many roles. He was a dutiful son, a caring brother, a confidant, a drinking buddy, a hard-worker, an adventure seeker, a fearless lover of life. He touched the hearts of everyone he encountered both in his personal and professional life. Oscar led by example. He changed people by simply being around them. He leaves a great emptiness in the wake of his passing. Oscar is survived by his father, Oscar P. Sevilla; mother, Cruz L. Sevilla; fiance, Cynthia Ramirez; and brother, Leonardo L. Sevilla.

While he was physically present with us, he filled our lives with joy and laughter and he will continue to watch over us, laughing and crying with us up in heaven.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma. A Church Service will be held in his honor at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 1815 S. 8th Avenue, Yuma, officiated by Father Gustavo Benitez.

Pallbearers: Ivan Vega, Alex Pereda, Ivan Velazquez, Sergio Legy, Jonathan Ramirez, Leonardo L. Sevilla. Honorary Pallbearers: Travis J. Sayer, Rajavarman Rajendran, Auntre D. Hamp.
