Jerome Paul Lauderdale, 49, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Yuma, AZ. Jerome was born on the 26th of December in 1964 in a cold snowy day in Owensboro, Kentucky. Jerome spent his childhood in Tell City, Indiana where he loved to help elderly neighbors shovel snow. After graduating from Tell City High School in 1982, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps like his father and brother, and he planned to make it his career until an injury ended it. Jerome was 6'2" and weighed only 140 lbs. when he joined, despite his drill sergeants' belief that he was not going to make it, he did. His drive to succeed carried on throughout his life. Jerome held several positions throughout his years in Yuma and worked for Pepsi Co., Dillard's, Marriot, and The Q. He loved basketball, golfing, fishing, and the outdoors. Jerome had the desire to help others and joined the Rotary Club, Caballeros de Yuma, and the Masons and Shriners. He even played Santa Claus many times. Jerome touched the hearts of so many people. His greatest love was for his family. The people he treasured the most are deeply affected and heart broken from his passing. Everyone will always cherish special moments and memories of his humor, his laughter, his dancing, and his charismatic personality.
