Alvin Lee Nichols Obituary
Alvin Lee Nichols, 66, passed away on June 27, 2014 in his home at Winterhaven, CA. Alvin was born October 13, 1947 in Somerton, AZ. He graduated from San Pasqual High School and was drafted by the U.S. Army on May 11, 1968 and served approximately 3 years. He was employed at San Pasqual Unified School District for 23 years as a Custodial Engineer until his retirement. Alvin was a member of the American Legion Post No. 802, VFW, and Eagles. Alvin was an avid Casino and scratcher ticket player. He also loved watching sports and his San Diego Chargers.
Alvin is survived by his nieces, Yolanda Nichols, Serena Magana, and Danita Nichols; nephews, Timothy Nichols and Raymond Nichols; great nieces, Nicole Ghahate and Christina Nichols; and great nephews, Mike Magana and James Magana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Brown Collins; father, Raymond Nichols; step-father, Henry Collins; brother, Daniel Nichols Sr.; nephew, Daniel Nichols Jr.; great-nephew, Emilio Orion Alberts.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Yuma Mortuary, 551 W 16th Street, Yuma. Tribal Rights will follow at 5:00 p.m. at Quechan Big House. Cremation will be at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2014.
Pallbearers: Family and Friends. Honorary Pallbearers: Doug Osborn, Gordie Osborn, Norman Osborn, Pat Brown, Woody Brown.
