Harry F. Weber Obituary
Harry F. Weber passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Born in 1936 in Plattsburg, New York to Henry and Carrie Weber.
Mr. Weber was the ninth of eleven children raised in upstate New York. After graduating high school in Whitehall, New York, Mr. Weber served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. After college and a brief time working for the State of New York, Mr. Weber continued his public service with the U.S. Border Patrol from 1967 through 1990. During his career, he served as a Patrol Agent and Supervisory Patrol Agent at five duty posts on the Mexican and Canadian border. Mr. Weber retired as a Special Agent with the Border Patrol Anti-Smuggling Unit in the Yuma Sector in 1990.
Mr. Weber maintained a lifelong love of the outdoors. Between 1990 and 2010, Mr. Weber resided in New Mexico on a 122-acre ranch, where he, with the help of a neighbor, built a warm cabin, a beautiful barn, and a garage for his tractor. This was his dream.
Mr. Weber was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Phyllis B. Weber, who passed in December 2007.
Mr. Weber is survived by his sons, Scott Weber of Jackson, New Jersey; Dan Weber of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and daughter, Karen Weber of San Francisco, California; as well grandchildren, Erin and Sara Weber; and Lauren, Christian, Michael and Khoury.
Mr. Weber is further survived by his siblings, residing in upstate New York, including sisters, Evelyn, Betty, Laura, Ruth and Sylvia; along with brothers Jack and Dick.
Mr. Weber's comments about his life shortly before passing: "Thanks for a great life. No regrets."
Memorial services will be held Friday, March 19, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Yuma Mortuary, 551 16th Street in Yuma.
