Jesse Sanchez passed away on February 22, 2011 in California. Affectionately known as Jay, she was born March 20, 1915 in Yuma to Jesus and Francisca Borboa Marquez. Jay married Tony Sanchez and together they raised 3 children in Yuma.

After Tony retired from the Yuma Fire Department, Jay and Tony bought a summer home in Parks AZ were they enjoyed many summers together with family and friends. She was quite famous for her big giant tortillas she would make on her wood stove and loved cooking for her family. Jay was very crafty in decorating and sprucing up her home in Parks and Yuma. She enjoyed her time participating as a charter member of the Eagles #398 in Yuma, AZ and bingo.
Jay is survived by her daughters, Rita Sanchez-Wolfe of Prescott Arizona and Sara Sanchez of California; 8 grandchildren; many great-grand children; sisters, Mary Wilson and Delia Cano of Yuma. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Francisca Borboa Marquez; her husband, Tony Sanchez; son Tony Sanchez; brother, Ramon Marquez and sisters, Rita Zavala and Socorro Lopez.
A Memorial Service will be held in October, date and time to be announced. The 5:00 pm Sunday Mass on March 20, 2011 will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 505 S Avenue B, Yuma AZ has been reserved in her name.
