My thoughts and prayers are with all of Occie's family.
I knew Occie as a kid growing up. She and my family (The Cobb's) lived next to each other on 20th Avenue in Yuma in the 1960's. Gary aka "Gary Bug" was one of my best friend's growing up. Then they moved over and opened The Fabric Mill. We had lots of fun swimming in the pool, running through the hot sand to the Fabric Mill, getting change and then running back through the hot sand to The Dairy Queen. She was always a lot of fun to be around, because as a young girl I was fascinated by all her fabulous nail polishes and lipsticks.
We lost touch years ago when we moved to Tucson and Rhonda, Gary, and O.C. were still in Yuma. I know she had to have been a treasure to you up to the end days. My blessings to all of you during this difficult time.

My life has been enriched by knowing Lola. She reminded me of my mother and was my favorite patient. Her mannerisms, smile and laugh brightened my day. It has been my honor to be part of her life. BINGO! Gail

I will miss you so much Aunt Occie, I'm glad for the time we got to spend together over the past years. Holding on to you was like keeping part of my daddy with me, now you are with him and the rest of the Burton family I look forward to the awesome family reunion we will all have but for now you are enjoying your own family reunion and you made it for granny's birthday what a celebration! I can only imagine, no more pain, no more suffering and no more death!!! R.I.P. I love you.

I had the privlege of getting to know Lola over the past couple of years, and was recently lucky enough to take a road trip to California with her Grand Daughter Courtney and Great Grand Daughter Samantha. Some of the absolute best memories of my life on that trip. Never having met my Grand Parents, I felt an easy connection with her spirit and laugh.
Thank you Lola for enriching my soul.
