Norman W. Bann passed away in Phoenix, Arizona on April 5, 2013. Norman was born in Yuma, AZ on July 17, 1940. He graduated from Yuma High School in 1958. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Guam in 1970, his Masters of Counseling Degree in 1972 from ASU in Tempe, and his PhD in Psychology from California Western University in 1982.

Norman served in the U.S. Naval Security Group, stationed in Guam during the Vietnam War. Helping those in need was his life's work and passion. He loved puttering around with his 1940 Chevrolet and dreamed of seeing it completely restored. Norman will be sorely missed by friends and family throughout the world.
Norman is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jean; his son, Patrick (Carla) Bann of Apex, NC; his daughter, Jennifer Bann of Phoenix; grandsons Trey Rowe of Phoenix and Eric Bann of Apex; granddaughter, Christina Bann of Apex. He also leaves his sister, Barbara (George) Koenigs; nephew, Craig Koenigs; niece, Carol Smith, and three cousins, Burton Bann, Laverne Newhard and Marie Bodenhamer, all of Yuma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Anita Bann.
Norman participated in the Whole Body Donation Program at the University of Arizona Medical School.
There will be a Memorial Service for him at 4:00 pm on Monday, May 13, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 E. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85012. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Arizona, 4643 E. Thomas Rd., Suite 1, Phoenix, AZ 85014-7740; or to the Arizona State Veteran's Home, 4141 North S. Herrera Way, Phoenix, AZ 85012-1832.
