Ethel Lorene Alonzo, a long time resident of Yuma, passed away August 8, 2013. She was the daughter of Lee and Rachel Keith. She was brought into this world by her grandfather November 7, 1923 on a farm near Eufala, Oklahoma. She grew up in Dallas, Texas, where she met and married her first husband, Carl Pannell, with whom she had two sons.

Ethel was a very talented woman who took great pride in everything she did. She cared about people and went out of her way to lend a helping hand when she saw the need. She was a long time member of the DAV, the VFW and the ladies Democratic party.
Ethel is survived by her son Carlton (Bettie), daughter-in-law Joyce, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, along with numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents (Lee and Rachel), her brother (Richard) and sister (Helen), her son (Eddie) and her Husband Steven Alonzo.
"Some say life is a party, you join after it's started and leave before it's finished." Ethel didn't waste a minute of the time.
There will be a visitation, Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Johnson Mortuary from 5-8 p.m. The Graveside Service will be August 14, 2013, 9 a.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Johnson Mortuary handled the arrangements. Please visit the guest book at www.yumasun.com/obituaries.
