John Wesley Clements, 92, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 14, 2013, at his home in Yuma. John was born December 5, 1920 in New Edinburgh, AR and has lived in Yuma for almost 64 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII.

In 1945, John married Mary "Sunshine" Campbell of Buckeye, AZ. He worked at YPG in the 1950s and then for the Bureau of Reclamation until he retired in 1979.
John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary; his sister, Alyene Weatherford of Yorktown, AR; three daughters, Candice Davenport, Kathy (Chet) Crain, and Johnna (Howard) Traver; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Melinda Clements; his oldest granddaughter, Charis (Crain) O'Donnell; his parents and five siblings.
John was an avid fisherman as well as a "fisher of men" as a believer in Jesus Christ. Known for telling fish stories, he was generous and kind to family, friends, and neighbors. Please join family and friends for a memorial service to honor his Godly legacy on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Baptist Church, 3830 W 8th Street, Yuma.
