Quentin Roosevelt Houston
ZANESVILLE: Quentin Roosevelt Houston, 63, of Zanesville, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care.
He was born October 18, 1949, at St. Ann's Maternity Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, a son of the late Quentin Roosevelt and Leta Mae McGhee Houston. He graduated from John Glenn High School on May 26, 1968 where John Glenn gave the class address "Dragon Pushers." Quentin honorably served in Vietnam in the United States Army and returned from his tour of duty in October of 1970. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. As a teenager, he designed and constructed a bowling alley, golf course, sled track, one main softball field and several football fields.
Surviving are four brothers, Spencer Dean Houston, Dennis Gregory Houston, Benjamin (Judith) Houston and Jeffrey Scott (Theresa) Houston, all of Zanesville; several nieces; a nephew; and numerous cousins.
Calling hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 in the Snouffer Chapel with Alan Ranck officiating. Quentin will be laid to rest in St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
